What is HW Studio?

HW Studio is a full-service creative and production studio that builds fashion brands and garments. Working across fashion, culture, design, technology, lifestyle, and more. Based in Zagreb, Croatia.

How are HW products different than others?

We are dedicated to developing and assembling garments with a strong focus on quality and on the unique end product. Our studio carries out a creative process for product and garment development, from concept to delivery, by providing both design and manufacturing services.

We are committed to putting research and learning as our main motivators for growth. By acknowledging others’ successes and being passionate about developing a solution of our own, we strive to perform on a top-notch level.

Are HW materials of good quality?

One of the practices that HW is proud to promote is the use of high quality materials. Once we source the materials, we test them to ensure they fit the level of quality that we expect for every HW piece. If they satisfy our requirements, we move on to the prototyping phase where the materials are analyzed for their behavior during production and afterwards during everyday wearing and washing. Continuous and reliable communication with our partners led to mutual trust regarding choice of fabrics, finishing of the garments, fast delivery and guaranteed quality.

Where do you produce?

We are very selective about who we work with. We have a strong relationship with local Croatian manufacturing facilities and production is guided by our production team with high standards of quality control.

Where do you source materials?

HW cooperates with long-term partners across the Europe and with the companies that can offer verified certificates such as OEKO-TEX which labels that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories have been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals. Also, there is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) which stands for ecological and social criteria and Global Recycled Standard - voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product. The goal is to keep our supply chain as close to home as possible to reduce the need for unnecessary transportation as well as to support the local economies.

Is HW environmentally conscious?

We recycle in cooperation with several companies in Croatia, for example Humana Nova, our long term collaborator. Also, we donate excess material (if there is any) to the Faculty of Textile Technology in order to encourage the growth and development of young and innovative students. In addition, we use deadstock fabrics for our smaller projects to help reduce textile waste and raise environmental consciousness.
